About Us

The goal of Amity’s Employment Services team as a whole is to provide training and educational support to students who have histories of incarceration or could be victims of violence in the community. Throughout their training programs, we assist students with their job search and placement. This department is rapidly growing as you can see by the photos of our team above and below.

Our faculty currently work out of 3 sites: Main St. Hill St. and Dreamcatcher. Our employment services team aims to provide workforce development services including training, job placement, support services, case management, occupational therapy, soft skill services and work-based learning to our students. This effort has been expanded to reach our youth students aged 18-26.

Throughout the year we have hosted graduations in a variety of training initiatives with our community college partners: East LA CC, Pierce College, and Antelope Valley. This is including, but not limited to, our Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician Program which has placed many of our students in careers in residential construction and management.

Some additional focuses and goals of this team are as follows:

•Collaboration with Workforce Investment Boards

•Collaboration with Community Based Providers

•Vocational Training

•Education Coordination (including Project Rebound, LAUSD, Community Colleges)

•Job Retention and Livable Wages

•Housing Support and Case Management

•Development of ~400 Units of Permanent Supportive Housing

•Housing BSCC Rental Assistance

•Collaboration with CES
